Husband and wife team who spend most of our time in the mountains. We offer photography, planning, and officiating for couples who want to get married outdoors in places like Telluride, Ouray, and across the San Juan Mountains.
Like you, we’re drawn to the wild. Jagged peaks, alpine lakes, waterfalls, quiet trails this is where we feel most at home, and it’s where we love helping couples celebrate their wedding day.

FAQ – How to Elope in the San Juan Mountains
Do we need a permit to elope in Telluride or Ouray?
For the most part, you don’t need a special permit just to elope in Telluride or Ouray, but you will always need a marriage license from any county clerk’s office in Colorado. A permit may be required depending on the exact spot you choose, especially if it’s a popular landmark, national forest trailhead, or privately managed area. We’ll help you figure out what’s needed so you don’t have to stress about it.
Do we need an officiant or witnesses to get married in Colorado?
Nope! Colorado is one of the few states that allows couples to self-solemnize their marriage. That means you don’t need an officiant or witnesses, you can simply sign your marriage license yourselves and make it official. If you’d like a ceremony, we’re both ordained and can officiate, but it’s totally up to you.
Do you photograph microweddings too?
Yes! While many couples choose a “just us” ceremony, we also work with intimate groups of up to 20 guests in Telluride, Ouray, and the surrounding mountains.
What’s the best time of year to elope in the San Juans?
Summer brings wildflowers and alpine lake hikes, fall is all about golden aspens, and winter offers snowy peaks. Spring is less predictable, but great for solitude. We’ll help you choose the season that fits your vision.
Can you help us plan more than one day?
Yes, we offer multi-day elopement coverage so you can spread things out. Many couples do a private adventure day in the mountains and a second day for a small ceremony with loved ones.
Where are the best places to elope in the San Juans?
Some of our favorite spots include Blue Lakes, Yankee Boy Basin, Imogene Pass, Telluride’s gondola-access trails, and hidden overlooks near Ouray. Each offers a different kind of adventure.
Can we include adventure activities in our elopement?
Definitely. Many couples choose to add a Jeep tour, short hike, or even skiing, depending on the season. We’ll help you plan an experience that feels true to you.
How hard are the hikes to ceremony spots?
It depends on the location. Some spots are drive-up or gondola-accessible, while others require light hiking. We’ll recommend locations that fit your comfort level.
