E + M’s Rainy Elopement in Iceland's Múlagljúfur Canyon
Rain, mist, waterfalls, and an entire canyon disappearing into the clouds. E and M’s Múlagljúfur Canyon elopement felt like stepping into another world.

They exchanged vows and rings surrounded by moss covered cliffs, with a waterfall dropping through the mountains behind them. Typical Icelandic weather that day, but that was exactly what made it so beautiful. The low clouds softened the landscape, the rain deepened every shade of green, and the canyon felt quiet and private.
After their ceremony, we explored the trail together, stopping for portraits along the ridgeline and overlooking the waterfall. Some of our favorite photographs show just how small the two of them looked within the landscape. Others hold onto the quieter parts of the experience, their rings, the way they held onto each other, and the laughter that came once the vows were finished.
Their day was a reminder that an Iceland elopement does not need a packed itinerary or perfect weather. Sometimes an amazing place and the person you love are more than enough.
