If you’ve ever thought about ditching the big wedding and keeping it simple, a desert elopement in Moab might be exactly what you’re looking for. Dead Horse Point is one of those places that stops you in your tracks. The canyon views go on forever, the red rock glows at sunset, and it feels like the kind of place that makes your vows even more powerful.

Why Moab is Perfect for an Elopement
Here’s why couples keep coming back to Moab for their wedding day:
The desert scenery is unlike anywhere else: cliffs, canyons, endless skies.
You don’t need to hike miles in your wedding clothes to find an epic view.
Winter, fall and spring are perfect seasons for mild weather.
If you’re dreaming of something quiet and personal, this is it.
Easy accessibility for family, the overlook is easy for guests to reach.
Plenty of space for portraits, you can walk just a bit further and feel completely alone.
Our Favorite Spots at Dead Horse Point
There’s no shortage of overlooks and trails here. Some of the places we love for ceremonies and portraits:
Main Overlook — the classic rim with sweeping views.
West Rim Trail — tucked-away spots with more privacy.
Side Overlooks — smaller areas that light up beautifully at sunset.
What We Include
When couples elope with us, it’s never just about photos. We help with:

Some couples want the best of both worlds sharing vows with family and also carving out time for just the two of them. That’s exactly what this Dead Horse Point elopement looked like.
The day started with a beautiful intimate ceremony at the main overlook. Their family stood with them on the rim, surrounded by sweeping canyon views, as they promised forever to each other. After hugs, a champagne toast, and some portraits with everyone, we shifted gears for part two of the day.
Once the family headed back, we hiked out along the rim for an adventure session at golden hour. The cliffs lit up with that warm Moab glow, the desert was quiet, and it felt like time slowed down. With no one else around, they got to breathe, explore, and soak in their first moments as a married couple.
